Ken Coates 1930-2010

Lifelong socialist, peace activist and radical Ken Coates has died aged 79.
Aside from his activism Ken came across as a very warm and humane individual on the occasions that I met during environmental and political campaigning. He was one of the most radical and left wing Euro MPs we have ever had in the East Midlands - possibly one of the reasons New Labour were so keen to expel him.
