Greens Prominent In Protests Against Repression In Tibet
Greens in Britain and France have been prominently involved alongside the Tibetan exile community in protesting against the repression directed by the Chinese State against the people of Tibet. The Olympic Torch carrying events in both London and Paris were heavily disrupted by protestors and both occasions became heavily policed, and occasionally hilarious farces. Prominent UK Green and Human Rights activist Peter Tatchell was amongst those arrested in London. In Paris, Green Party activist Sylvain Garel was grabbed by security near the torch, and Mireille Ferri, a Green vice-president of the Paris region, was arrested while carrying a fire extinguisher!
We must show solidarity with all those under attack from the Chinese State, including human rights and environmental activist Hu Jia, who has just been jailed for three and a half years for keeping up his fight for what he believes in.

Perhaps I should be more specific. You are a mosquito riding on the back of an oblivious horse sucking the blood from its ass. You benefit mightily from the saved effort of making any foward progress on your own, but you, in your myopic little world, are unaware of your surroundings enough to notice the changes on which you rely.
On occasion the horse, dimly aware of your existence, swishes its tail to rid itself or your irritating blood-sucking bites. You smugly declare to yourself "I must be very important that such a mighty animal is expending so much effort in my name".
This phenomena is lost on the horse, but does much for your self-esteem so you continue with your aggrivating little punctures, engaging in the casual self aggrandizement by announcing to the world that your efforts (whatever they may be), are in the name of improving the human race. Strangely, your opinion of the human race is so low that one would imagine that a creature as great and wonderful as you would not deign to acknowldedge such pitiful little beings.
The horse and race continue their plodding labor.
And you... you will continue sucking their blood until you, and the thousands like you... kill the host.
Hurry up and declare victory. Your free ride is almost over.
